Frequently Asked Questions
Before booking Sher'ril and Samantha for your event, you may have some questions that will help you determine whether or not we're a good fit for you, your guests, and your venue or theater. Here are the answers to questions we've been asked by countless clients and guests of our past performances.

1. "Wow! How did you do that?!?"
We get this question a LOT after performing an interactive illusion or a full-length show. While we're always flattered to know we've amazed our audiences and clients so much, the rules of Magic prevent us from divulging our professional secrets.
If you're a puzzle person, you can always try to figure it out on your own. However, if you're trying to learn one of our large and potentially dangerous escapes or illusions, we recommend that you don't try to recreate our performance. Anything dangerous should always be left to the professionals and we'd like for you to stay safe!

2. "What ages are your shows appropriate for?"
Our shows are enjoyed by people of all ages. For most magicians, that would mean that we perform primarily for children and use only child appropriate props. We're not most magicians, however, so when we say our shows are enjoyed by all ages, we mean ALL.
To answer the question specifically, our style of performance can be enjoyed by anyone, but is usually enjoyed to the fullest by adults, teens, and older children ages 10+.

3. "Have you ever been on/considered being on America's Got Talent?"
This is a fun question to answer. When we were performing for a local rehab and nursing facility, one of the resident patients was adamant that we audition for America's Got Talent. She's a great lady, a joy to have in our audience and we really did consider auditioning. After researching the time constraints of the initial, off camera audition, the long waiting times, and discovering that contestants sign a contract allowing themselves to be filmed almost 24/7 (with no control over how the footage is edited), we decided it wasn't something we'd be comfortable participating in. Add to all that, many sources we researched stated that the contract also gives the show producers the right to control the appearance of the hair, makeup, and costumes of the contestants.
On the surface those may not seem like big issues. For the contestants we see on TV, they're obviously not. For us, however, we enjoy what privacy we have while being in showbusiness and we intentionally dress modestly as a way to enhance the effects of our magic and to show obedience to God. Our wishes might be respected if we decide to audition for AGT, but we're not willing to take that risk.

4. "How long of a show can you perform?"
We're constantly expanding our repertoire, so the precise answer to this question is always getting longer and longer!
To make things easier, the longest show we will perform is about 2 hours and usually has an intermission. In our experience, no audience wants to sit through a 3 or more hour magic show and no magician wants to perform a show that long! At least, not without ample breaks in between acts.

5. What is the shortest show you can perform?
The shortest show we'll perform is somewhere between 30-45 minutes. If we're at an all day event, such as a conference or convention with multiple performances, we can perform for 15-25 minutes at a time.

6. "What instrument do you play?"
This question is usually asked of us when we tell people we're magicians. Sounding similar to "musicians," people ask us what we can play.
To answer that question, both Sher'ril & Samantha can play at least one song on keyboard instruments, and Sher'ril can strum a few chords on the guitar and banjo.
Fun Fact: A few years before becoming magicians and escape artists, Sher'ril & Samantha performed a music show with their father for a local politician's rally!

7. "Why do you need at least 4 weeks notice to prepare for my event?"
We specially tailor each show for our clients, the themes of their event, the size of the guest list, and the size and configuration of the event venue. When it comes to a really great magic experience, there's no such thing as a "one size fits all" magic show. It takes time to plan and practice each show in order, sometimes with new routines that need to be ironed out specifically for your event, so the show goes smoothly and everyone has a great time.
We also have busy lives outside of our magic career and many times we can be found travelling to visit family members, going to conferences, and we've found that we plan and practice our shows best when we're at home, surrounded by our props and illusions. The 4 weeks notice gives us time to travel home, plan, practice, and prepare for you and your guests.

8. "Can you perform for my child's birthday party?"
The best magic experiences we've performed have been on the stage of a theater or in a large and open event space. Still very interactive, still fun, and more exciting than ever. Most birthday party settings aren't always suited for this kind of experience. We always strive to give our clients and their guests the best and most enjoyable experience we can, so unless your child's birthday party venue fits our requirements, we'll have to pass on that opportunity.
